Australian golfer Adam Scott has mentioned that his performance of five over par at the World Golf Championship – Cadillac Championship in Miami has proven that he still needs to work on his game, especially with the defense of his US Masters title looming large in front of him in a month.
The Australian did not manage to break par at any of the rounds throughout the event at the Trump National Doral, a whopping nine shots behind the eventual winner Patrick Reed.
The course, known as the Blue Monster, has undergone a sea change over the last twelve months under its owner Donald Trump and that has drawn a lot of criticism from several top golfers who played at the event and only three from the entire field managed to finish with under par scores.
But for Scott, the world number two, his performance was still unacceptable.
He stated that there is very little for him to take out that event, except the fact that he has to practice a lot more. He added that he will work on the usual things and will try to tighten things up in his own way.
Scott went on to add that he will take a few days off and then start training and mentioned that he will hopefully get some good feeling from that. He also stated that he just needs to see where he stands in a few days’ time.
The Australian mentioned that if he it is horrible, then he will have to work a lot harder; on the other hand, if it is good, then he will just try and keep fresh.
He went on to add that the game is there in him and there is still three weeks left for the first major of the year and that is a good sign.
