The Ryder cup is all set to be played and both the continents have started off their preparation for the cup. This year the Ryder cup will be played in the country of Scotland in the month of September. The US team has started off with announcing the players who will be representing them in Scotland this year. The US team made a big announcement this week as they named Tom Watson as their captain for Ryder cup 2014. Steve Stricker was named as the man who will act as the deputy to Watson. Currently the squad who will represent US in the Ryder cup 2014 is more of a list of players who are unfit to play or are experiencing injury. Looking at the current condition of the players named in the list the US team will be looking for some huge number of last moment replacement to be carried on in Scotland.
Steve Stricker was named as the third assistant captain to Watson but the main concern is that he has not played much in the year and may be less of practice. On the other hand the US teams Matt Kuchar is currently suffering from back injury which forced him to withdraw from PGA championship. On the other hand Jason Dufner too is suffering with two bulging discs in neck. The captain said that Tiger Woods is under consideration for a comeback. Looking at the current squad of championship Stricker may get a call to replace injured player in Scotland. He is the only player who has a good record when it comes to Ryder up. He has been a part of the Ryder cup team 3 times and has played well during that time. The captain also hinted of his chance of playing the championship as a last minute substitute.
