The 2015 WGC-Cadillac Match Play has come up with a new format this year that has been duly welcomed by pro golfers like Adam Scott & Jason Day.
Adam Scott has been teamed with Chris Kirk from America, Paul Casey from England & Francesco Molinari from Italy.
Paul is like the dark horse of the group who finished as runner-up in 2009 & 2010 events. Scott, who missed the 2014 WGC partly in protest of traditional Match play format, is hopeful that the latest change in format would be helpful for him.
The erstwhile # 1 was unable to cross over the 2nd in his past 8 appearances in WGC Match Play & he was knocked out right in the maiden round 5 times, including the last 3 on trot.
Defending champ Jason has been grouped with Americans Charley Hoffman & Zach Johnson as well as Branden Grace from South Africa for WGC round robin that would hosted at the famous Harding Park.
Jason, who claimed the WGC title last year in a highly competitive ground with 64 top players, this year, would need to triumph his team after rounds against every man in 3 days to proceed to knockout round 16.
Last year WGC victory marked the greatest victory for Day that he earned with an epic fight against Victor Dubuisson from France.
Marc Leishman would have to go past Rose but in case he is able to come up with an upset, he might face Anirban Lahiri from India & Ryan Palmer from America.
Matt Jones would be fighting to hone up his debut in WGC this year, drawing Dustin Johnson, Frenchman Dubuisson as well as erstwhile Masters champ Charl Schwartzel.
Sender (John) will open against Henrik Stenson, Bill Haas & Brendon Todd
