Adam Scott has just proven why he’s one of the best golf players in the business today.
We are referring to his recent stint at the WGC HSBC Championship, which was held in China. He fought back relentlessly on day three. And it was one of the most spirited performances we have seen in the recent times.
Adam Scott is a former world No. 1 and that was on display. Day 2 wasn’t that great for him. Day 2 ended with a shooting of not so impressive 80. He played his best in the 3rd round, where excelled beyond everyone’s expectations. The 3rd round saw 8 birdies. And that completely erased his forgettable performance on day 2.
The third round was held on Saturday and the Queenslander had a blemish-free performance. Even though he’s trailing behind Hideki Matsuyama, it was such a great comeback.
Without any doubt, the 64 was the best round of the day.
Once he teed off the 10th hole, it looked as if he would be aiming for a neutral position. But excellent birdies at 13 and 14 told us about what was in store for the day.
He continued to perform well. We saw him doing well at 16 and 18 as well. And as a result, he was sent to the turn 4-under. It was his second 9 for sure.
For him, it was about seeking redemption. And he managed to walk away with redemption at the Sheshan International Golf Course.
The double bogies helped in immensely to gain 42 strokes. But he didn’t want to repeat the embarrassing performance in the second round. Therefore, he managed to cover the journey in 10 shots less.
And as a result, he managed to regain his lost confidence. And that was visible in his brilliant performance in the 3rd round. It was indeed a memorable performance for the golfer and his fans.
